Writer, poet and inhabitant of the earth. A freelance writer using this space to showcase my work and gather it onto one platform.
My first publication of English poetry, Lethe: A Rhapsody of Life Remembered, was published in 2019 and was shortlisted for the National Book Prize in 2020. My most recent publication, anki ħamiema, is a collection of Maltese poems published as part of a series of chapbooks by Ede Books. I am keenly interested in the history of the Maltese Islands, and proudly occupy the role of archivist in the NGO Għaqda Storika u Kulturali Marsa.
Malta is very dear to me, although this island has been going through quite of a rough patch these past few years. Her beauty remains for those who dare seek it, and shines in the common yellow flowers on every rubble wall, growing through every crack of the pavement. Malta is the foamy waves of a lazy summer sea, idly lolling to and fro. She is the blood red sunset colouring the sky, turning her plain beige stones to a fiery red. This is the island I feel so connected to.
I am a freelance writer, blogger, proofreader and translator, in English and Maltese. If you are interested in hiring me, you can contact me here.
